Getting Back In The Swing Of Things

After what seems like forever, we have moved completely out of the old house and into the new! Well new to us, it is a 90 year old farmhouse that has been in my family for exactly that long. My Great-Grandfather built it and he and my Great-Grandmother raised their seven children here. My mother and aunt were also raised here and I feel blessed and privileged to get to raise my rowdy brood here also.

My sewing room has grown from a tiny room the size of a closet, to much bigger space, and it is wonderful. Most things have a place and are in it!  But over the last few weeks I have dusted off the sewing and embroidery machines and they have been humming all day long.  Love the sound of progress!!!

Quilt top made from a Jelly Roll!!

While cleaning up in this very messy sewing room I came across this my second ever quilt top!! I made it with a Mary Englebright jelly roll!! I love those things for making quilts, strips already cut making the cutting a lot easier, which is never my favorite part of the project!!

Spring Time in the Country

Yesterday while their dad was mowing down some tall grass the twins found a box turtle!
What an awesome lap book project we now have to do! They are really wanting to learn all they can about this little guy, and this homeschooling mom likes the sound of that!
So we will surf the web, read some books and most of all gain some knowledge!!! :)

TGIF

I love Friday's!! And really love warm sunny Fridays, today we will be planting our garden and the thought of all those fresh veggies that will be available to us in a few months makes me smile :) !! I am, after all, a country girl through and through. And if I can grow it in the garden and not have to get it in the grocery store all the better.

I will also be taking some time to work on some designs for an up coming craft fair that will be held in Edenton, NC at the annual Hog Fest. I know right, what a name for this event, but hey it's also a day of BBQ, grilling mastery. My good friends from Two State BBQ will be there, so if your in the area I would suggest you do your stomach a favor and come on out. Sure to be some good food and fun.
